Safety is an important consideration when using candles. We have made our soy candles using strict quality controls from start to finish and have taken every precaution to make them safe for you to enjoy.
We recommend the following six step process:
Care- Burn - Enjoy - Extinguish - Care - Burn again!
We have put together a list of Care and Burn Tips to help you use our soy candles safely as well as caring for your soy candles so that you can enjoy them to the end with the best performance possible:
1. We use lead free cotton wicks for all our candles. However, keep the wick trimmed to 0.5 – 1 cm to prevent smoking. Retrim every 3 to 4 hours as the candle burns.
2. SOY/PALM PILLARS: Do not burn longer than 1.5 hours for the first burn. It is normal for the candle to form a tunnel as it burns without distortion of the outer wax wall. Once the candle burns right down, you can insert a scented tealight in the same fragrance and turn it into a hurricane candle.
3. Burn in a draft free area clear of combustible materials such as curtains, books, baskets, etc.
4. Candles should be spaced about 2 cms apart while lit to prevent uneven burning.
5. Keep the burn pool clean, never throw matches into the candle.
6. Store candles below 25 degrees Celsius, out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.
7. Always place the candle on or in a non-combustible, heat-resistant base set on a level stable surface.
8. Extremes of heat and cold should be avoided. Do not store the candles in the freezer and never leave them in a hot car. Just as you would never subject your best skincare to extreme temperatures.
9. After the candle has burned down, the jars may be cleaned by washing them gently in warm soapy water. Allow to air dry before use.
10. NEVER move or leave the candle unattended while burning.
Always keep away from children & pets
11. CAUTION: containers become hot when candle is lit
